  WAH LOK'S WORSHIP DEVOTIONS

Wah Lok

Welcome to my devotional page. I have written these devotions specially for those involved in the worship ministry. As you read them daily, I hope you will walk closer with God. Try to do one devotion per day and not all at one go. I pray my devotional thoughts will help you dedicate your music to God.

DAY 26 - PRAISING GOD WITH A DANCE

Scripture Reading: Ps 149:2-3, Ps 150:4-6, Ecc 3:4

Ps 149:2-3
2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.

Ps 150:4 - 6
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

Eccl 3:4
4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;

Discussion

Dance as a form of worship has been restored to the church is recent years. In the late 70s, I know of preachers who were against dance in the church. But God is bringing this form of praise back to His church. Dance is often a reflection of joy (Ecc 3:4). It is suitable for celebration services.

Most of the dances we see today are dominated by women. But God wants to raise men dancers too. There should be both feminine and masculine dances. Men usually bring a stronger side to the dance ministry. Encourage the men to join the dance ministry too. It is a great form of worship.

Prayer

Father, I pray You will help me develop a dance team who will praise You with dance and tambourines.
